Mid-Semester Examination

The mid-semester exam is scheduled for Friday, 23 April in two sessions running from 3pm and 5pm. You will need to bring your student card. The exam will cover Chapters 1-5. Revision questions can be found here.

Solutions

3pm session: Surnames A-K Building 63 Room 360

                     Surnames L-Z Building  63 Room 358

5pm session: Building 63 Room 348

You can choose which session you attend. If you are sick, or absolutely cannot make either of those times, or have another exam on the same day, then we will make arrangements for you to sit the exam some time during the following week. You will need your student card to sit the exam.

The exam will run for 90 minutes, and in addition there will be 5 minutes perusal time. No graphics calculators, notes or scrap paper are to be taken into the exam.

You will be issued with a single sheet of blank paper. During perusal, you may write on the blank sheet, but not on this exam booklet. Do not write on the single sheet once perusal is over. Your single sheet will be collected with your exam script and will be destroyed (so material written on that sheet will not be assessed).

Failure to sit the mid-semester exam will result in a mark of 0 for that exam unless you provide documentary evidence of extenuating circumstances (e.g. medical certificate). If acceptable documentary evidence is provided, you may sit a special mid-semester exam at a date to be determined.

If you need help with exam preparation, the PASS leaders will be very happy to help you out and you may also wish to access the Maths First Year Learning Centre or Maths Drop-In Centre.
