7. The statement "p if, and only if, q" can be written symbolically as  p q  which is equivalent to  (p q) L (q  p).  Two possible answers to this question are:

p if, and only if, q is the same as p implies q and q implies p.

p if, and only if, q is the same as if p then q and if q then p.
