8. A function F only has an inverse function if it
is a one-to-one correspondence. First determine if the function g: RR
where g(x) = 2x + 5 for all x in R is a
one-to-one correspondence (that is, one-to-one and onto). If you decide that the
inverse function of g does exist, then follow the method of Example 7.3.12 on pages 383 -
384 of the textbook to find the inverse function.
