****REVISION TUTORIAL****There will be a revision tutorial for MATH2100/2010/2011 on November 14, before the final examination. The tutorial will be held in Room 67-141 from 2-4pm.--> TRIAL EXAMINATIONSHere is a Trial Examination for MATH2100/2010/2011. It is the November 2006 paper, with solutions. Here is another Trial Examination for MATH2100/2010/2011. Please note that while this second Trial Exam provides a good guide to the type of questions that you will be asked, the format for this year's exam (like last year's) has been simplified. There will only be four questions on the MATH2100 paper, unlike the second Trial Exam, which has six questions. Also there will be no Part A and Part B as there is in the second Trial Exam. The marks value for each part of a question will be stated after that part on the paper, and you will be asked to ANSWER EVERYTHING. The total of the marks for all part questions will be 65, corresponding to the fact that the exam constitutes 65% of the total assessment for the course. Note that the MATH2100 examination is TWO Hours long, and there will be 10 minutes at the start to read the paper. Calculators will be allowed, but all memory must be cleared before entering the exam room. There will be only two questions on the MATH2010 paper (= the first two questions from the 2100 paper). The marks value for each part of a question will be stated after that part on the paper, and you will be asked to answer ANSWER EVERYTHING. The total of the marks for all part questions will be 65, corresponding to the fact that the exam constitutes 65% of the total assessment for the course. Note that the MATH2010 examination is ONE Hour long, and there will be 10 minutes at the start to read the paper. Calculators will be allowed, but all memory must be cleared before entering the exam room. Similarly, there will be only two questions on the MATH2011 paper (= the last two questions from the 2100 paper). The marks value for each part of a question will be stated after that part on the paper, and you will be asked to ANSWER EVERYTHING. The total of the marks for all part questions will be 65, corresponding to the fact that the exam constitutes 65% of the total assessment for the course. Note that the MATH2010 examination is ONE Hour long, and there will be 10 minutes at the start to read the paper. Calculators will be allowed, but all memory must be cleared before entering the exam room. The Laplace Transform formula sheet will be attached to the actual examination MATH2100 and 2010 papers. For the Trial Examination, it can be found with the Solutions to the second Trial Examination. The formula sheet is also available here. Here are the last few examination papers for MATH2100. Solutions to Q1&2 of MATH2100 Paper from 2004 Solutions to Q3&4 of MATH2100 Paper from 2004 (= Q1&2 of MATH2011 Paper) Solutions to Q1&2 of MATH2100 Paper from 2005 The first halves of the 2100 papers are the corresponding MATH2010 papers, and the second halves are the corresponding MATH2011 papers. But again, please note that the format has been changed (simplified) for THIS year's papers. There will be only four questions on the MATH2100 paper (and you will be asked to answer them all). The first two will make up the MATH2010 paper, and the second two will make up the MATH2011 paper.Tutorial Sheets and AssignmentsYou will find the tutorial sheets and the assignments on this page. Solutions will posted here also after the due date. Assignments are to be handed in after your tutorial in the appropriate week, or in the appropriate assignment box on Level 3 of the Maths (Priestley) Building #67, by 5pm on the Monday of the following week. (See the course profile for details.) Please use a cover sheet with each assignment. You can download a cover sheet here. See mySI-net for tutorial times and rooms. Sign on for one tutorial group if you have not already done so. Visit the University map to find the location of your room. |
